Elle
About the Author
elle.jpg

Elle has lived many places in the United States and has had great experiences with some wonderful career opportunities  She has been a bookseller, taught third grade, music, piano, voice and dance.
As a performing artist, Elle conducted drama workshops, choreographed and directed numerous theatre productions for children and adults.

And, oh yes, a couple of pageants and outdoor festivals too!
It was theatre that led her to play writing and that ignited her love for storytelling, especially stories for children.  Elle found purpose and passion writing children’s books that have a message and are also fun to read.  Books with a goal of stimulating curiosity and imagination for the child and the adult who reads to them and with them.
Elle writes stories...always looking for the magic and hoping that those who read them will share this extraordinary feeling too.

Uko
About the Illustrator
uko.jpg

Uko has always loved drawing pictures.

As a young child, she would watch cartoons and Japanese anime.  It was easy to take a pencil and make graphite imitations of what she had seen on television shows.
Growing up, Uko started to read Manga comics and these became her new inspiration and she had a new goal.  Uko aspired to be a Manga artist.  Her parents saw that she was very talented and enrolled her in art classes.

She says that, “...the more I learned, the more I grew” and discovered painting with acrylics and oils were her favorite mediums. Uko studied digital art, which was a good thing because it made her an awesome graphic designer.
Uko’s contest winning designs for retail merchandise can be seen on her Instagram account www.instagram.com/midoriglasses/
Uko’s impressive artwork brings Elle’s stories to life and creates delightful, one-of-a-kind illustrations for each tale.
